HogWild Sauteed Green Beans
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil- 1 pound fresh whole green beans, washed and snipped at ends
- 2 teaspoons to 1 tablespoon HogWild Original Italian Spice Blend
- Juice of 1/2 to 1 lemon
Place oil in a medium sized skillet and set heat to medium
Add green beans and toss to coat
Sprinkle with the Italian Spice Blend, and toss again to make sure green beans are evenly spiced
Saute green beans, stirring or tossing until they are done to your desired crispness. (We prefer them fairly “al dente”)
Remove from heat, and add lemon juice and toss to completely coat. Serve hot
Optional Ideas:
- Thinly slice 1/2 onion (whichever type you prefer – we like the sweet yellow onions). Saute with green beans
- Thinly slice 2 shallot ‘cloves’ and saute with green beans. These are also excellent when added to onions
- Use 1 to 2 tablespoons butter or margarine in place of olive oil
- Instead of fresh green beans, you can use frozen whole green beans. Place green beans in a microwave safe bowl. Add 2 tablespoons butter and 1 tablespoon Italian Spice Blend. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Toss to coat the green beans with the spice and butter. Add lemon juice if desired
