Italian

Back in 2004, our HogWild Spice Blend was born.  Actually, Rich created it while playing with a variety of spices for grilling pork tenderloin.  Once he perfected his blend, we realized we were on to something.  After many months of taste testing; including sending samples to people we knew all over the country the results were overwhelmingly positive.  Out of over 100 samples we sent out we got two negative replies; and both of those people do not like garlic!  (Can you even begin to imagine a life without garlic?)

We also got responses like, “This is GREAT on roasted potatoes”, and “I used it on popcorn”,  “Have you tried it on vegetables yet?” and so on.  It was all of this that gave us the confidence to try to market this blend.

So, HogWild Spice Blend was a hit at the Farmer’s Markets, Food and Wine Festivals, and other various events.  During the next year, we spent much time creating recipes for this blend, and in fact we produced a cook book on CD with over 200 recipes for this wonderful, Super Italian Spice Blend – more information on this cook book at a later date.

About a year later, we created our Mexican Spice Blend.  Which led us to a problem.  We could no longer refer to our original blend as “HogWild Spice Blend”.  So now, it is HogWild Spices Italian Blend.  Same amazing spice blend; just a more descriptive name!

Now on to the recipes!

We use HogWild Spices Original Italian Blend in place of salt and pepper for almost everything we cook.  We have been using this spice blend since 2005 exclusively and it NEVER gets old!  We use it on:

  • All Meats (except ham, hot dogs and sausage – although we have a lot of customers who love this blend to MAKE venison sausage!)
  • Fish
  • Vegetables
  • Rice
  • Pasta
  • Salads
  • Soups
  • Sauces
  • Dips
  • Bread
  • Popcorn
  • Pizza

Basically, if you like garlic… try HogWild Spices Original Italian Blend instead!

HogWild Butter

This recipe is used for so many things.  If you use room temperature margarine or butter, you can make amazing garlic bread, or use it on corn on the cob, or on baked potatoes…  the list goes on and on. When melted, it is amazing as a pasta ‘sauce’, or add lemon and use it for cooking fish – again the list is pretty well limited only by your imagination. All you need is: One stick butter or margarine One tablespoon HogWild Original Italian Spice Blend
